Anthony Garuccio was working a high-stress tech job and ignoring what his body was telling him. Bodywork, yoga, meditation and therapy got him listening again. He describes what came out of it plainly: a freer, more joyful, more embodied life.
He trained at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy and now practises as Radical Self Love Bodywork at 5627 Hays Street in East Liberty.
He also built this directory, which seems only fair to say on his own listing.
What a session is like
His line: a good massage is a conversation, not a monologue. He welcomes whatever your body does in response, a sigh, a change in breath, a belly rumble, the urge to talk. None of it counts as an interruption.
The approach blends deep, slow pressure with myofascial holds meant to signal that it’s safe to let go. Each session opens with a check-in about your goals and what’s been going on since last time, and he follows your lead from there, whether that’s an hour on your head and neck or full-body Swedish.
Underneath it is a belief he states directly: the body is interconnected, and much of massage’s power is in reuniting parts that anatomical labels have artificially divided.
