Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Pittsburgh Massage Directory (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site — whether as a visitor searching for a massage therapist or as a licensed massage therapist (LMT) with a listing — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC (“the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

1. About the Site

Pittsburgh Massage Directory is a regional online directory designed to help members of the public find licensed massage therapists practicing in the Pittsburgh area. The Site allows visitors to browse and search LMT profiles and allows licensed massage therapists to create and maintain a professional listing.

The Site is intended for informational purposes only. We do not provide massage therapy services, and we do not act as an agent, employer, or representative of any LMT listed on the Site. We do not refer, recommend, or endorse any specific practitioner.

2. Health and Wellness Disclaimer

THE SITE DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT. NOTHING ON THIS SITE SHOULD BE INTERPRETED AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR CONSULTATION WITH A LICENSED HEALTHCARE PROVIDER.

Information presented on the Site, including LMT profiles, specialties, and service descriptions, is provided for general informational purposes only. You should always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your health or treatment.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or your local emergency services immediately.

3. User Types

The Site serves two types of users:

  • Visitors: Members of the public who browse the Site to find a massage therapist. Visitors may use the Site without creating an account.
  • Listed Practitioners (LMTs): Licensed massage therapists who create a profile and maintain an active listing on the Site. LMTs must create an account and agree to the additional terms in Section 5.

These Terms apply to both Visitors and Listed Practitioners.

4. Visitor Use

As a Visitor, you may browse and search LMT profiles on the Site.

Visitors agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, threaten, or misrepresent yourself to any LMT
  • Scrape, copy, or systematically collect data from the Site
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s functionality

5. Listed Practitioner Terms

5.0 Listing Approval

Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC reserves the right to accept or decline any listing application at its sole discretion. Submission of an application and payment does not guarantee publication of a listing. We are not required to provide a reason for declining an application.

In the event an application is declined, any subscription fees paid will be refunded in full. This right to decline applies to new applications only and is separate from our right to suspend or terminate existing listings under Section 8.

5.1 Eligibility

To create a listing on Pittsburgh Massage Directory, you must hold a current, valid massage therapy license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (or the applicable jurisdiction in which you practice). By creating a listing, you represent and warrant that you are duly licensed and in good standing.

You must also maintain current professional liability insurance appropriate to your massage therapy practice. Acceptable coverage may be obtained through any reputable provider of professional liability insurance for licensed massage therapists.

Listings must represent individual licensed practitioners. Memberships may not be purchased or controlled by an employer, franchise, clinic, or any third party. Each LMT is responsible for their own profile content and professional representation.

5.2 Credential Accuracy and Practitioner Responsibility

Pittsburgh Massage Directory does not independently verify the licensure or credentials of practitioners at the time of listing creation or on an ongoing basis. Credential verification is the sole responsibility of the listed practitioner.

By creating or maintaining a listing, you represent, warrant, and agree that:

  • All information in your profile — including your name, license number, credentials, specialties, and contact information — is accurate, current, and complete
  • You will promptly update your profile if any information changes, including changes to your license status
  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for any consequences arising from inaccurate, outdated, or misleading information
  • Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC bears no liability for any harm, professional consequences, or disputes arising from inaccurate credential information in your listing

5.3 Profile Requirements

All LMT listings must include a professional portrait photograph. Photos must be:

  • A clear, professional-quality headshot of the listed practitioner
  • An accurate likeness of the practitioner (not a logo, stock image, or image of another person)

We reserve the right to remove or reject any profile photo that does not meet these standards.

5.4 Subscription and Payment

Access to a listing on Pittsburgh Massage Directory requires an active paid subscription. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing details are outlined at the time of registration and on our Pricing page.

Your listing will remain active for the duration of your paid subscription period. If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your listing will be removed from public view. Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC is not responsible for any loss of client contact or business resulting from a lapsed subscription.

5.5 Conduct and Content Standards

LMT profile content must be accurate, professional, and lawful. Your listing may not contain:

  • False, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims about your qualifications or services
  • Content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or offensive
  • Content that infringes on any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights
  • Unauthorized advertising for third-party products, services, or businesses
  • Any content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity

We reserve the right to remove or modify any listing content that, in our sole discretion, violates these standards or is otherwise inappropriate, without prior notice.

5.6 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials. You must notify us immediately at admin@pittsburghmassagedirectory.com if you become aware of any unauthorized access to your account. Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your account.

5.7 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, your listing will remain active through the end of your current billing period and will then be removed from public view.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to your listing, including your profile text, photographs, and other materials (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content to the Site, you grant Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Site, for as long as your listing is active.

Upon cancellation or termination of your listing, we will remove Your Content from public view. We are not obligated to retain or return copies of Your Content after removal.

6.2 Site Content

All content created by Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC — including the Site design, layout, text, graphics, and underlying software — is the property of Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute Site content without our prior written permission.

6.3 Trademarks

“Pittsburgh Massage Directory” and related names, logos, and branding are trademarks of Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.

7. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to external websites, including links provided in LMT profiles. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any third-party websites, and inclusion of a link does not constitute endorsement by Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC. You access any third-party sites at your own risk.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account or listing at any time, without prior notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that a user has violated these Terms or that termination is otherwise necessary or appropriate. You agree that Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC will not be liable to you for any consequences of such termination.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as required by applicable law.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PITTSBURGH MASSAGE DIRECTORY LLC AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE; (B) ANY CONTENT OR INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SITE; (C) THE CONDUCT OR SERVICES OF ANY LISTED PRACTITIONER; OR (D) TERMINATION OF YOUR ACCESS TO THE SITE.

Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC does not act as an agent, employer, or guarantor of any LMT listed on the Site and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any services provided by listed practitioners.

In no event shall our total cumulative liability to you exceed the total subscription fees paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. PITTSBURGH MASSAGE DIRECTORY LLC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY LISTING OR CONTENT ON THE SITE, INCLUDING PRACTITIONER CREDENTIALS OR AVAILABILITY.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) the content of your listing; or (d) any services you provide to clients who found you through the Site.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

You agree to bring any claim or action arising from your use of the Site within one (1) year from the date the claim arose. Claims not filed within this period are permanently barred.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

14. General Provisions

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pittsburgh Massage Directory LLC regarding your use of the Site and supersede all prior understandings or agreements.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision in the future.

14.4 Amendments

We may update these Terms at any time. We will post the revised Terms on the Site with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14.5 Eligibility

By using the Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction. The Site is not intended for use by minors.

14.6 Electronic Agreement

By clicking “I Agree,” “Register,” “Subscribe,” or similar buttons on the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. Your electronic acceptance carries the same legal weight as a written signature.
