She’s a Licensed Massage Therapist, a Certified Medical QiGong Therapist and a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, and she works medical qi gong into how she assesses every client. Depending on what she finds, a session might draw on Swedish, deep tissue, shiatsu, acupressure, tui na, lomi lomi, stretching, myofascial therapy or lymphatic drainage.
Ten years in, and a decade before that
Karen spent most of a decade as a project manager and event planner before qualifying in 2016 — a move she made to build a healthier balance into her own working life. That background shows in how easy she is to book.
She trained in the advanced health care provider massage therapy program at CCAC, and studied medical qi gong under Dr. Ted Cibik at the same time. She also holds peer specialist training for mental health, including pre-crisis and crisis intervention, which feeds a genuinely trauma-informed practice — useful in a room full of strangers.
