In 2015 a yoga teacher told Nico Sirio they had intuitive hands, and set up a session with Nanda Nanthi, who became their first Thai bodywork teacher. Nico practised on friends and family with that introduction and a well-worn book.
It stayed a hobby until Nepal. Working with an earthquake response team, one member was about to be sent home with a bad case of tennis elbow, unable to do the work he’d come for. Nico offered a few Thai techniques. He was back on the job the next morning, pain-free.
That’s the story Nico tells about why they do this, and it’s a better answer than most of us could give about our own jobs.
What they work with
The list of populations on their profile runs long and specific: hypermobility and EDS, fibromyalgia, lymphedema, scoliosis, scar tissue and adhesions, disc conditions, migraines, insomnia, first responders and veterans, neurodivergent clients. Thai is the throughline, but they also work with acupressure, cupping, lymphatic drainage, medical massage, myofascial release and sound therapy.
One year licensed, and holding an Advanced Thai Massage certification on top of it.

The home studio is at 612 Ella Street in the East End. Nico accepts FSA and HSA, and works in English and Spanish.
