Meet Cara Stewart, LMT in Regent Square and Sewickley

Craniosacral therapy, manual lymphatic drainage and bodywork for PTSD, from a massage therapist and yoga teacher with a sliding-scale practice in Regent Square and a salon room in Sewickley.

Cara Stewart became a licensed massage therapist in 2022, after training at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy. They’re also a registered yoga teacher, and they offer guided breathwork and meditation. Bodywork, intentional movement and breathwork have been tools in Cara’s own healing, and the practice is built on a plain idea: you’re the expert on what you feel in your body.

What a session draws on

Cara’s training covers Swedish, neuromuscular and deep tissue, myofascial and sports massage, alongside craniosacral therapy, manual lymphatic drainage and bodywork for PTSD. Their listing adds cupping, trigger point work, hot stone, assisted stretching, aromatherapy and Reiki.

Their listing names the people they’ve spent meaningful time training for and working with: clients living with anxiety and depression, grief, insomnia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia, headaches and migraines, autoimmune conditions, lymphedema, and hypermobility or EDS. They work with neurodivergent clients and with performers and musicians, and their care is LGBTQ+ affirming.

Two rooms, two ways of working

Cara works from two places, with slightly different offerings and pricing at each.

Terrapin Yoga & Wellness is their independent practice, at 1102 South Braddock Avenue in Regent Square. It runs on a sliding scale and centres trauma survivors, queer bodies and touch-sensitive folks, and it’s where Cara offers private yoga sessions as well as bodywork. Hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10am to 8pm, by appointment only. The office is on the second floor and the only way up is a flight of stairs. There’s plenty of street parking on Milton Street a block away, and the 61B, 71 and P71 stop at South Braddock and Hutchinson. Booking is online.

Kindred Beauty & Wellness, at 535 Beaver Street in Sewickley, is a women-owned, eco-conscious salon where Cara offers a more traditional, spa-like session, with seasonal specials. It’s all on the ground floor, with a gender-neutral bathroom. It’s also dog-friendly, and there’s sometimes a dog in the salon, so call ahead if that matters to you.

Pricing in Sewickley is standard rather than sliding: an hour of custom massage is $110 and ninety minutes is $160, manual lymphatic drainage is $100 or $140, an hour of craniosacral therapy is $100, and the ninety-minute seasonal bodywork session is $190. Tipping is encouraged there. Free parking in the plaza is limited and paid street parking is strictly enforced; free spaces on nearby residential streets are a short walk away, if you mind the street-cleaning signs. Kindred takes appointments by text at (412) 312-0507.

Their Pennsylvania licence, MSG014652, is verified against the Department of State, the same as every listing here.
