About Thai massage

Thai massage, also known as Thai yoga massage or nuad boran, is a traditional healing practice from Thailand with roots in Ayurvedic medicine and Buddhist traditions dating back over two thousand years. Unlike most Western massage modalities, Thai massage is performed on a floor mat with the client fully clothed, and it involves a dynamic combination of rhythmic acupressure, assisted yoga-like stretching, compression, and joint mobilization. Practitioners use their hands, thumbs, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to work along the body's energy lines—known as sen lines—with the intention of releasing blockages and restoring flow and balance. Sessions are active and engaging for both practitioner and client, and the experience is often described as simultaneously invigorating and deeply relaxing. Traditional Thai massage training involves substantial study of technique, anatomy, and the theoretical framework of Thai medicine.
